The Icd on Birch Lake was about 46" thick. You can drive anything on the lake.
Trying out the "Ice Potty" in the Ice Museum.
Sitting at the Ice bar waiting for our World Famous Appletini drinks served in ice martini glasses (OK, just kidding - we didn't order those!).
We had a wonderful adventure in the sleds. The boys LOVED it! Kathy, our guide, was worried the speed would scare them, but our speed demons kept on asking to go FASTER! At the end, the boys each got to stand up on the runners in front of our two drivers and "Drive" the sleds up the hill. For the family photo, I was a bit worried that the dogs would take off with the 4 of us (and no driver), but Kathy promised that they wouldn't as long as I stood on the brake. Luckily, we didn't move as there is no way I could have driven this thing! This was a great experience, and well worth the trip to Fairbanks in winter.
